HELLO!

Ilyssa Kyu is a design researcher in Philadelphia.

Utilizing my background in industrial design, user research, and human-centered design, I help teams identify opportunities and clarity in the chaos, while finding unconventional, creative ways of solving problems. I am also the founder of Amble and co-editor of Campfire Stories.

Design for good.

I work with mission focused individuals and organizations to find their voice, mine their collective stories, connect with each other and their work, and elevate the meaningful work they do. These projects are typically research, strategy and workshop-led engagements focused on web, digital and brand.

Amble, Founder

Amble is a sabbatical program for creative professionals to take time away with purpose. Creatives work on small but impactful projects with nonprofits and nature conservancies in exchange for unique lodging and meaningful experiences in beautiful destinations like Yosemite National Park and Glacier National Park.

Campfire Stories, co-editor

My husband Dave Kyu and I created the book Campfire Stories, an anthology of tales, songs, ballads, legends, short stories and myths collected from the communities in and around 6 of America’s favorite National Parks. It was published by Mountaineers Books in 2018.
